New District Commissioner Team Announced

Date: 23rd Mar 2020 Author: Lee Woolsey

Following a successful search, I am delighted to be able to share with you that we have appointed a team to lead Grimsby and Cleethorpes District Scouts. Whilst maybe not so common in the Humberside area, sharing the DC role (or Team DC as it is often referred to) is becoming more common throughout Scouting and enables volunteers to share the responsibilities of the role, making it more manageable.

The team that has been appointed are as follows (along with their area of designated responsibility):
– Carol Dillon (Adult Support)
– Michelle Oldershaw (Programme Support)
– Mike Connor (Activities)

Although each will have their own overall area of responsibility, the team will share some of the general workload around managing the District, working together to develop and support both volunteers and young people. Carol, Michelle and Mike will also be looking to develop a team of volunteers to work with them to aid the development and help make the future exciting for Grimsby and Cleethorpes District.

Naturally, the team will be in contact with Mike Waters over the coming period to ensure a seamless handover of roles and responsibilities.

I am sure you will join me in welcoming them all to their new roles.

Kind Regards

Gary McCune
