Date: 2nd Jul 2017 Author: Lee Woolsey

This weekend Cub scouts from across Grimsby and Cleethorpes came together for a weekend of adventurous activities at Cherry Garth camp site.
The district Cub camp took place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June in brilliant sunshine at the campsite in Humberston. Activities included climbing, aerial runway, go karting, archery and even sailing! Over 100 cubs took part in the weekend camp which also included a campfire and even an outdoor disco on the first night. All participants had come from a wide variety of groups across the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area allowing everyone to make new friends outside their usual groups and enjoy some unique activities that a lot of them may not have tried before.

The Cubs had a brilliant time with the sun coming out over the weekend which made the outdoor activities even more enjoyable. Sarah Louise Smith, leader from 3rd Cleethorpes, reflected on the weekend: “I’d like to say, on behalf of 3rd Cleethorpes cubs and leadership team, thank you Matthew Lewis and Claire Smith and team for a fantastic weekend. We’ve had some amazing feedback from parents about how their youngsters haven’t stopped talking about a fabulous camp. Thank you for the chance for the youngsters to do some awesome activities”.
